Richmond has locked away Sam Banks (2027) and Liam Fawcett (2026) to new deals as the club looks toward the future.

Banks has emerged as one of the Tigers' most improved players in 2025, taking his game to new heights across the half-back in the absence of veteran Jayden Short.

The 22-year-old ranks among the club's elite for disposals, kicks and metres gained, and is gaining confidence each week he pulls on the yellow and black.

"It has been great to see Sam make the most of his opportunities this season and get some reward for the hard work he has put in to improve all aspects of his game," Richmond GM of Football Talent Blair Hartley said.

"Sam has now played 33 games at AFL level and is showing that he belongs on an AFL field.

"His strong form this year has been important for us, and we are delighted that he will be able to continue to grow and help drive us forward, along with his teammates, across the next two years and beyond."

Fawcett joined Banks by putting pen to paper, extending his time at Punt Road for 12 months as he continues to find his feet at AFL level.

Taken with Pick 43 in the 2023 intake, the emerging forward has taken strides to become a consistent top-flight footballer, making his debut in Round 2 against Port Adelaide.

"Importantly for Liam, he has had some continuity this season, and we have been pleased with the way he has applied himself and continued to develop his game," Hartley added.

"He had a taste of senior football earlier this year, which was great reward for his excellent pre-season, and we are excited about his prospects as he continues to improve within our football program."
