Richmond's Taj Hotton and Jonty Faull have both signed on with the club, keeping them at Punt Road until 2029.

The first-round draftees from the 2024 AFL National Draft have both found their feet, welcoming the news, but injuries have kept them off the field.

Hotton has had an unfortunate injury-riddled start to his AFL career, only being able to play 16 games since his debut year.

The former Pick12 suffered a pre-draft ACL injury, forcing him to miss the bulk of his debut season, before making his debut in Round 18 last year and going on to play the final seven games in 2025.

He was then sidelined again and needed to enter rehabilitation in late February of this year after discovering bone stress in his hip, but returned in Round 15 and, like last year, has not missed a game since.

He had a career-best 18 disposals, four clearances and a last-quarter goal in the Tigers' tight loss against Carlton in Round 17.

Faull came into the Tigers team in 2025 needing to be a key target in an undermanned forward line, and has found some genuine form in 2026.

The 195cm forward hit the scoreboard in four of his last five games before sustaining a back injury ending his season.

He had a career-best three-goal game in the Tigers' win against West Coast earlier this year in round eight and is more than likely to be a key pillar for them in the next few seasons.

Richmond Executive General Manager, Football Talent - Blair Hartley said that the pair were an important part of the club's future.

“We are thrilled that Jonty and Taj have extended their time at Richmond. Both boys are highly driven to get the most out of themselves and this playing group, which is an exciting prospect,” he said.

“Jonty is building an understanding of what it takes to play as a key forward at AFL level, and his attitude to embrace those challenges earlier in the year was impressive. We were just starting to see the best of him before he was unfortunately struck down by injury.

“Taj is just scratching the surface of his potential, and it has been great to see him get some continuity in his football since returning from injury with nine straight AFL games and another in the VFL.

"He brings a skill set that will really help us going forward, with his ability to inject some excitement and release his teammates all over the ground.

“We are looking forward to seeing both these players continue to work hard across the summer and to be big drivers in what we are all looking to achieve as a Club."

The Tigers welcomed eight new additions to their side in the 2024 draft alongside Hotton and Faull, including pick No.1 Sam Lalor and pick No.7 Josh Smillie, as well as Luke Trainor, Harry Armstrong, Thomas Sims and Jasper Alger.

No further extensions have been signed yet from this draft class, as they are all currently only contracted until the end of 2027.
