Richmond has confirmed the extension of midfielder Tyler Sonsie for 12 months, signing until the end of 2026.
Sonsie was drafted with Pick 28 in the 2021 National Draft and has played 40 games in the yellow and black, including a career-high 16 matches this year.
The 22-year-old cemented a more prominent role in Adem Yze's side following strong form in the VFL as a midfielder.
However, he spends most of his time across the half forward line and the wing in the senior team, collecting on average 15.3 disposals, 3.8 marks and 1.7 tackles.
"Tyler's strengths were obvious for all to see whenever he took the field this year, and we hope with another pre-season he will continue to grow as a player," Richmond EGM Football Talent, Blair Hartley, said.
"He has worked hard for this contract extension, and it is a great reward for him. We are looking forward to seeing what he can achieve in 2026."
However, the news wasn't as positive for fellow youngster Thomson Dow, who has been delisted.
Dow played 45 games after he was drafted with Pick 19 in the 2019 draft.
However, the 24-year-old was limited by injuries throughout his time at Punt Road, including a knee injury this year that ended his season after 11 matches.
"Thomson was very unlucky to miss the second half of the season through injury," Hartley said.
"Unfortunately, this time of year, we need to make hard decisions, and we were unable to offer Thomson a list spot for 2026.
"We thank Thomson for his hard work during his six years with us. His attitude was always first class, and we wish him well for his future."
Along with Dow, Richmond farewelled Tylar Young (trade, West Coast), Jacob Bauer (delisted), Jacob Blight (delisted), Mate Colina (delisted), Jacob Koschitzke (delisted), Kamdyn McIntosh (delisted), but welcomed former Geelong youngster Patrick Retschko.
