The duel premiership player and All-Australian was a stalwart in the Cats backline for a decade, retiring after last year's 31-point Grand Final loss to Richmond.

Playing 49 games over three seasons with East Fremantle, Taylor was drafted with pick 17 in 2007. A mature-aged player at that point despite being on 21-years old, he quickly became a cult hero at the Cats.

Despite having played 280 games of AFL football, Taylor is as keen as ever. Speaking to East Fremantle's website, he spoke about his excitement at mentoring a new generation.

“I’m really looking forward to getting out on the field with the boys. I’m keen to help East Fremantle in their push to become a consistently competitive club in the WAFL," said he three-time premiership player.

"Though I’ve been working in an off-field role, the ability to pass on some of my learnings over my 13 years in the AFL in a more on-field capacity really excites me. "I’m a competitive person and can’t wait to get back out there and play my part.
