Sydney has reportedly denied any interest in North Melbourne forward Mason Wood.

The Footy Show's Damian Barrett reported on Wednesday night that the Swans have made a big play for Wood, offering the 22-year-old as much as half a million dollars per season to move north.

However, according to FoxSports, Sydney "has categorically denied any interest" in the Roos' forward, who is out of contract at season's end.

The Swans say that their priority is to re-sign young midfielder Tom Mitchell, who has been linked with a move to Hawthorn, since he put contract talks on hold with Sydney last month.

Wood is a required player at North Melbourne and seen as a long term prospect in the side's forward line.
