Sam Edmund told 1116 SEN this morning Melbourne defender Sam Frost is considering a move to a third club, after a lower-than-expected contract was put on the table for the 26-year-old.

The athletic backman is now out-of-contract as two teams are looking to target the running defender.

North Melbourne has joined the race for Frost, and could surpass the Hawks in terms of his most likely destination.

“He’s been lowballed by Melbourne in terms of the contract offer. He’s probably going to join a third club," Edmund said.

"North Melbourne could overtake Hawthorn as a suitor for him.”

Hawthorn has been linked to Frost recently, as they loom as key players in this year's upcoming trade period.

The former GWS Giant has played 91 games and has averaged 13.5 disposals and 4.0 marks per game in 2019.
