The Ultima Storm have procured the services of former AFL All-Australian Taylor Adams for their final two matches of the home and away season in the Central Murray Football League.
The former Giant, Magpie and Swan played 229 games at the highest level, winning the best and fairest at the Pies in 2020 - the same year he was handed his lone blazer.
An array of injuries brought about a somewhat premature end to the Geelong Falcons product's career at the top level. His brutal absence from Collingwood's watershed, drought-breaking 2023 premiership necessitated a fresh start in the Harbour City, but the 32-year-old just could not get going in the red and white, managing 23 appearances in three seasons.
Former Collingwood teammate Ben Kennedy is credited with introducing Ultima power brokers to the bullocking midfielder.
The Storm released a statement confirming the signing, encouraging the community to embrace the marquee player.
"We've been sitting on this one for a while," the statement began.
"For the past few months we've been working behind the scenes on something pretty special, and today we're excited to finally share the news.
"Taylor Adams is joining the Ultima Storm for the remainder of the 2026 season. We know the season is well advanced, but when the opportunity came up to bring a player of Taylor's calibre to our club, it was one we couldn't pass up...
"We're looking forward to having him involved with our group over the coming weeks and giving our players the chance to learn from someone who has competed at the highest level for so long.
"A big thank you to Ben Kennedy for making the introduction, and to Taylor for getting behind what we're building at the Storm."
The side sits 12th in the league with two rounds remaining. The top eight go through to finals, and with eighth place currently two wins clear of the Storm, Adams, Kennedy and co will be hoping that multiple dominos fall their way across the home and away season's final fortnight.
