When Jamie Elliott gets the ball inside 50 late in a close game, you can just about put a goal in the book.

Collingwood has been the indisputable king of the close finish since Craig McRae took the helm in 2022 and Jamie Elliott has been the poster-boy of the trademark moments.

For a generation he has delivered a burgeoning package of memorable moments, standing up when it matters most.

Arguably the most iconic moment of Elliott's career. Everyone has seen the play. Collingwood needed the perfect end-to-end transition from a kickout and veteran Scott Pendlebury found Darcy Moore, who linked up with Trent Bianco. Bianco kicked it perfectly to Elliott's advantage in a one-on-two marking contest, with Elliott marking, composing himself and finishing truly from where the 50-metre arc meets the boundary to break the hearts of the Pies' famous rivals. The main nicknamed Billy delivered in the week the club was commemorating the life of 212-game club great Billy Picken.
