Port Adelaide star Jason Horne-Francis says he isn't going anywhere despite calls for Tasmania and Ken Hinkley to hunt the midfielder.
Former Power premiership player and media personality Kane Cornes put Horne-Francis as a Devils target on the agenda, with Hinkley and the 2021 Pick 1 holding a close relationship.
“We had good fun with it. I sent it to Kenny (Hinkley), and he had a good laugh about it. I wouldn't say all these leadership aspirations if I didn't want to be a Port Adelaide player for a long time," Horne-Francis said on Triple M.
Cornes feared the looming departure of Zak Butters could hinder Horne-Francis' performances, potentially opening the door to a third AFL club.
“The last person I want to see go to Tasmania ... is my man, Jason Horne-Francis,” he said on The Agenda Setters.
“He's top 10 in the coach's votes, and his numbers are off the cliff - but that's with Zak Butters though.
“What happens when Zak Butters goes, that's where my concern lies.
“Contracted until the end of 2028, they've got a year ... to show they can support him.
“Ken Hinkley will be on the phone; they've got a close relationship ... their first priority is ‘how can we support this guy in the midfield when Butters goes?'.”
Since joining Port Adelaide after a year at North Melbourne, the on-baller has emerged as a star of the competition, and has taken his performance to the next level in 2026.
He ranks in the top 10 for coaches' votes and will be rivalling fellow midfielder Zak Butters and star defender Aliir Aliir for the Power best and fairest.
Horne-Francis also has leadership aspirations, and current skipper Connor Rozee flagged the potential of the right-footer to lead the Alberton club in the future.
“I think we are both leaders that want to take the club forward, and that's what ultimately we all want to do as a footy club: move forward and put our side in a good spot to win premierships," Horne-Francis said.
"That's ultimately what everyone wants to see. Hopefully we can just fast-track that as much as we can. But I appreciate Connor saying that.”
