Port Adelaide have made a late change to their 26-man squad for Saturday night's match against Melbourne, with defender Tom Clurey replacing emergency Dylan Williams.

The club have not disclosed the exact reason for Williams' withdrawal, with Clurey named in his place among the Power's trio of players on standby.

Williams has been listed as injured among the Power's crop of changes from their Round 2 squad that defeated Richmond. He did play in Port Adelaide's SANFL match on Friday, with no recorded ailment known.

The 22-year-old was replaced by the returning Jed McEntee for the clash with the Demons, and was set to be an emergency prior to Clurey's inclusion.

Clurey joins Trent McKenzie and Dante Visentini as Ken Hinkley's emergencies, with McKenzie the only player of the three not to feature for the Magpies against Glenelg in Round 1 of the SANFL.

Clurey has played just AFL one game since July of 2022, having endured repeated back issues last year before undergoing surgery for a bulging disc.

A late change could mean he backs up his SANFL outing, however McKenzie looms as the likely late addition if one if required for the Power.

Port Adelaide will finalise their 23-man squad at 6:30pm (AEDT), with the opening bounce against Melbourne to take place an hour later.
