North Melbourne are set to unveil a debutant for this weekend's clash against Gold Coast, with Josh Goater set to become the sixth new Roo in 2022.

Goater was selected with pick 22 in the 2021 AFL draft after a strong junior career at the Calder Cannons. Throughout his NAB league career, Goater played in both the midfield and defence proving himself as a valuable asset around the ground.

The 19-year-old has impressed in his time playing for the Kangaroos' VFL side throughout his first year at the club, averaging 15.6 disposals and 4.3 marks per match as he plays across halfback and the midfield.

The young Roo is the final draftee of North's 2021 draft class to earn his debut this season, set to run out on Marvel Stadium on Saturday afternoon in the Kangaroos' final game of the year.

Goater, who is a lifelong Kangaroos fan, joins Jason Horne-Francis, Paul Curtis, Miller Bergman, Jackson Archer and Kallan Dawson on the list of 2022 debutants.
