North Melbourne midfielder George Wardlaw is set for a stint on the sidelines due to a hamstring strain.
Wardlaw, who has a history of soft-tissue injuries, is set to miss three to four weeks due to the strain. An important few fixtures for the club looms with the Roos fighting for wildcard contention.
He left the field late in North Melbourne's Round 17 clash with Port Adelaide and didn't return after sustaining the injury during a sprint, before clutching at his left hamstring and making his way to the bench.
“Scans reveal a strain there and with George's history we'll take a conservative approach to his return to play,” North Melbourne head of performance Kevin White said.
“He commenced running and light gym loading this morning (Tuesday) and will build his program out across this first week or rehab.”
North Melbourne play Collingwood, Melbourne, St Kilda and Hawthorn in the next four rounds which will likely decide if the Kangaroos play finals in 2026.
Injury list:
George Wardlaw: Hamstring, three to four weeks
Jackson Archer: Knee, out for the season
Toby Pink: Shoulder, out for the season
Blake Thredgold: Foot, out for the season
