Wantaway North Melbourne forward Zane Duursma is set to attack his running conditioning as he deals with a shoulder injury.

Duursma - who has requested a trade away from the Kangaroos - is working his way back to full strength and will resume non-contact training when the club returns in November, with the hope he'll be raring to go in December.

The former Pick 4 has been linked to Melbourne, bypassing a two-year deal from the Arden Street club.

The Kangaroos also provided updates on Blake Thredgold, Toby Pink, Jackson Archer and Tom Powell.

Thredgold was drafted by the club with Pick 26 in last year's draft, emerging as an athletic prospect. He was moved to the inactive list after he suffered Lisfranc injury in February.

"Blake enters the off-season period with great loading under his belt from the last eight weeks of group training. He is excited to enter into our pre-season program unrestricted with the squad," Head of Performance Kevin White said.

Father-son defender Jackson Archer ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in the 2026 pre-season, wiping out his entire year.

"Jackson is one we will build slowly, given some recent knee swelling that we are managing on top of the significant amount of football he has missed across the last few years," White said.

"He will remain in a rehab reconditioning program across the early pre-season phase, while we then graduate his group involvement once he is in a good position with his football conditioning and knee status."

Powell will be on a modified program as he works his way through groin troubles. The midfielder required medical intervention at the end of the year, but will be largely unrestricted in the off-season.

Pink will resume non-contact drills in November as he works his way through a shoulder injury.

"Toby will follow an unrestricted running conditioning program over the off-season while starting to make progress on his upper body strength."
