North Melbourne has extended Cooper Harvey's time at Arden Street for another 12 months, agreeing to a new deal that expires at the end of 2026.

Harvey's late-season resurgence was largely the reason the Kangaroos have kept him on the books, as he develops his craft as a small forward.

The 21-year-old is the son of club legend and AFL games record holder Brent Harvey, and was drafted by North Melbourne in 2022 with Pick 56.

Harvey featured three times in 2023 before forcing his way into Alastair Clarkson's side with strong VFL form, playing the final seven games of the most recent campaign.

He kicked 10 goals during that period, including a four-goal haul against Melbourne in Round 18.

"Cooper showed glimpses of what he's capable of in the second half of this season," North Melbourne's head of football talent Brady Rawlings said.

"He was given his opportunity in the senior side late in the year and responded well, proving he has good goal sense and the versatility to play in multiple positions.

"We're looking forward to watching him build on that momentum and grow into a consistent player."

Harvey survived the most recent list culling, as Darcy TuckerGeordie Payne and Will Phillips were shown the door.

The trio of list cuts add to four previous delistings at Arden Street, with the Kangaroos having already bid farewell to Kallan DawsonBrynn TeakleMiller Bergman and Eddie Ford.

As well as the seven delistings since the end of the 2025 season, Finnbar Maley also departed the club via a trade, joining Adelaide through the player exchange period.

North Melbourne added Melbourne forward Charlie Spargo to their list for the 2026 season via free agency, and will carry Picks 25, 26, 46 and 57 into next month's draft.
