Adelaide has been dealt one of the toughest fixtures in footy this weekend, heading to face Geelong at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday afternoon after four straight losses have left the club languishing in 15th position.

Coming off the back of a 21-point loss to St Kilda at Adelaide Oval, a game in which the Crows squandered opportunities in front of goal, kicking 9.15, head coach Matthew Nicks is confident his side can pull off a miracle win on opposition turf.

The Crows' coach spoke to media ahead of the Round 11 clash on Friday, admitting that while the club hasn't won in Geelong since 2002 when the club was led by ex-Cats steward Gary Ayres, Nick still believes that his side is in with a chance.

"I know people will look at it and say 'hang on, you're coming off four losses'," Nicks told media.

"Our momentum, we believe, is heading in the right direction.

"Our last two games we have had our opportunities, we haven't got the result in the end and that has been really disappointing and frustrating.

"But we go down with a lot of confidence with where our game is at at the moment ... our group will go down and have a real crack at it.

"I guess they're due if they have done that many (losses) in a row. You have got to look at it that way, right?"

Despite Nicks' optimism, the Crows are struggling on the selection front, with forward line duo Taylor Walker (Covid protocols) and Josh Rachele (corked thigh) both set to miss this weekend.

With his two best goal scorers in 2022 set to watch from the sidelines, Nicks has conceded that the Crows will need to change up their structure against an impressive Geelong defence.

"Where we are going to kick our goals from will be the question that comes," Nicks said.

"We will look at a few things this week where we will think we will hit the scoreboard.

"We will stick to our DNA, we will stick with our gameplan, but the personnel will obviously be a little bit different to what we have had.

"There's no hiding from we will go in a little bit smaller than what we have been in the past.

"Our challenge will be to compete and perform and Geelong are such an experienced backline."

Geelong are currently sitting in sixth position after an impressive 35-point Round 10 victory over Port Adelaide, though are set to be without star Patrick Dangerfield as he nurses a calf injury.

The Crows have made four changes ahead of Saturday afternoon's clash, with Jordon Butts, Matt Crouch, Reilly O'Brien and Wayne Milera all coming in for Chayce Jones (Omitted), Rachele (Managed), Kieran Strachan (Omitted), Lachlan Sholl (Medi-Sub) and Walker (HS Protocol).
