Collingwood could welcome back four established players for Saturday's clash against West Coast at the MCG.
Ruckman Darcy Cameron will come straight into the senior side after missing last week with an ankle injury, which has proven to be timely given Oscar Steene's ACL tear.
Captain Darcy Moore and Patrick Lipinski have been given the green light following concussions against Geelong, and will be up for selection. As will forward Tim Membrey, who has recovered from a hamstring injury.
"A good list of magnets to pick from this week," Pies coach Craig McRae said.
"They'll be fit and available. Darcy Cameron as well. Selection is going to be difficult. There's going to be some players who are playing good footy who will miss out.
"Tim Membrey will be available."
Club icon and AFL star Scott Pendlebury will become the V/AFL games record holder when walking out onto the hallowed turf of the MCG after being managed in two of the past three weeks.
Collingwood has been criticised for its decision to rest Pendlebury given the Pies had a close loss to Sydney last week, as well as the draw against Hawthorn, in the two fixtures.
The Pies have copped heat from the media for over celebrating the smooth-moving midfielder, with McRae giving one more staunch defence before Saturday.
"To be honest, I think that's pretty naive to think we would do that," McRae said of the suggestion that Collingwood handpicked West Coast as the opponent for Pendlebury's milestone.
"We set a plan in place around what Pendles' milestone could look like.
"We're not crystal-ballers, we can't predict the future. There's so many things that have to go in to get here to this game.
"He's been rested here and there or managed with a sore Achilles and other parts. If we put him out there he might've done his Achilles or more.
"There's so many moving parts. No, there's never been a target of certain individuals or competition. That's pretty naive."
McRae moved to further clarify his interaction with former Pie Brodie Grundy last week.
"I can't articulate what I said because it was a personal thing. For me, it was just a moment in time and we keep moving," he said.
"If you have a strong relationship with someone I don't see an issue with it.
"I coached him when he first got drafted. I've got a really strong relationship and great respect for Brodie.
"There was nothing untoward and at the appropriate time I might be able to tell you what I said."
Bobby Hill is "unlikely" to play in the VFL this week.
"It's probably unlikely, we've got some news brewing but we can't say at the moment," McRae said.
"I will leave that for the appropriate time, it's probably unlikely Bobby plays this week.
"That's a bigger question (if he plays this season), I think at the moment I would hope to think so.
"We're just in a position where his partner is expecting a baby really soon."
