There has been a development in the investigation into the shooting of controversial sports scientist, Stephen Dank.

Six shots were fired into Dank's in the early hours of July 23 this year, with the 52-year-old suffering a graze to his forehead.

The Herald Sun has reported that Victoria Police have released images of a BMW which they believe was involved in the shooting. Police are appealing to members of the public who have any information regarding the incident, to come forward.

“Investigators believe a grey 2005 BMW wagon registration TOE 769 was involved in the drive-by shooting and had been stolen from a Cranbourne address earlier that day,” a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.

“The stolen vehicle was later found burnt out at a reserve on Tramway Rd in Mount Evelyn on August 17.

“An image and CCTV of the BMW has been released in the hope someone may be able to provide information.

“Detectives are keen to speak to the driver or occupants of the BMW and anyone that may have seen suspicious activity in the area around the time of the shooting.”
