Collingwood midfielder Jack Crisp has avoided suspension for his tackle on North Melbourne winger Tom Blamires.

Match review officer Michael Christian deemed the tackle and action to be reasonable.

"It was the view of the MRO that Crisp does not use excessive force in executing the tackle and that Blamires had both arms free for him to attempt to brace for impact with the ground," a statement read.

"Notwithstanding the injury suffered by Blamires, Crisp's actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances and did not constitute a reportable offence."

This means Crisp's current league record of 279 consecutive games will continue when Collingwood plays Carlton next week.

He hasn't missed a game since moving from Brisbane to Collingwood at the end of 2014.

The incident occurred in the second quarter when Crisp tackled Blamires, who sustained a concussion and didn't finish the game, without pinning his arms in the centre of Marvel Stadium.

Collingwood key defender Billy Frampton was not so lucky as he received a one match ban for his tackle on North Melbourne key forward Matt Whitlock.

Frampton's tackle on Whitlock occurred deep inside North Melbourne's forward 50 late in the final quarter.

The Pies defender pinned Whitlock's arms as he brought him to ground, but Whitlock played out the rest of the game and did not sustain a concussion.

Frampton's actions were deemed to be a reportable offence and graded as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.
