Brisbane's Ty Gallop has escaped suspension for his dangerous tackle on Collingwood's Charlie West during Friday night's clash at the MCG.

The 20-year-old key defender can be served with a $3000 fine or a $2000 fine with an early plea.

The incident occurred late in the third quarter deep inside the Magpies' forward 50.

Gallop tackled West to the ground, but in his second action, dumped the young Magpie into the MCG turf.

West was awarded a dangerous tackle free kick and booted it for one of his career-high three goals.

The 20-year-old key forward played out the match and didn't have issues with his HIA.

Match review officer Michael Christian deemed the action to be of rough and careless conduct, low impact, and high contact.

It's good news for the young Lion who will be free to play in the club's qualifying final against either Sydney or Fremantle in two weeks' time.

Gallop, in just his second season at AFL level, has already built an impressive resume across his first 24 games.

The young swingman won a premiership medallion last year with the Lions as a key forward, before being swung down the other end in 2026 to become an impressive lockdown defender.
