Off-season Sydney recruit Malcolm Rosas Jnr has put on a show for those in attendance at the SCG on Sunday.
The 24-year-old, who arrived for a packet of chips from Gold Coast late last year, booted five first half goals in a scintillating display as Sydney outlasted Melbourne in a high-scoring match.
Rosas kicked his sixth goal halfway through the final quarter - as part of the Swans' defence against a late and dangerous Dees plunder - before strolling in to kick his seventh a few minutes later.
Sydney ruckman Brodie Grundy celebrated his 250th game in style, with his family at the ground enjoying themselves as the 32-year-old star kicked a set shot goal in the fourth quarter.
Grundy finished the match with 26 disposals, a game-high 10 clearances, 45 hitouts, 12 score involvements, four tackles and a goal to be among the best on ground.
Sydney star Isaac Heeney (33 disposals, eight score involvements) spoke glowingly of Grundy to Fox Footy after the final siren sounded.
"(Grundy) is unbelievable," Heeney said on the Fox Footy broadcast.
"He is up against two guns (Max Gawn and Max Heath), yeah, they probably got over a little bit on the (centre bounces), but around the ground he is unstoppable. He is an extra mid.
"Geez he is tough as well, he goes hard."
After a decade spent at his first club Collingwood, Grundy made the move to Melbourne in 2023. He lasted one year at the Dees as his on-field partnership with rival-turned-teammate Max Gawn didn't work out as the club and player had hoped.
The mobile ruck then made the move north to Sydney, a decision that has paid dividends and could see Grundy claim his third All-Australian jacket this season.
