There are more pre-season injury fears for the Western Bulldogs, with reports surfacing that key defender Liam Jones could be dealing with a hamstring concern.

The Dogs have already lost Adam Treloar (calf), Anthony Scott (kneecap) and Jason Johannisen for the start of the coming season due to injury, while question marks surround forward Jamarra Ugle-Hagan's chances of featuring in the first handful of games as he deals with personal matters.

Ruckman Tim English is currently on a modified program due to an abdominal injury, adding to Luke Beveridge's frustrations ahead of the 2025 season.

The club's injury headaches could be compounded just over a month out from the season starting, with multiple reports revealing fresh concerns for Dogs backman Liam Jones.

The injury is said to have occurred during match simulation on Sunday, with the Dogs currently training in Maroochydore as part of a pre-season camp in Queensland.

The Dogs have invited Southport ruckman Brayden Crossley to train under Beveridge this weekend via the Supplemental Selection Period, with the former Gold Coast big man filling in for the absent English as the Bulldogs deal with an undermanned ruck unit.

Outside of English, the Dogs have just one recognised ruckman in second-year player Lachie Smith, while swingman Ryan Gardner has been called on to feature in the middle.

The Western Bulldogs have had Werribee star and reigning J.J. Liston Trophy winner Dom Brew training at the Kennel since late last year, with the hard-nosed midfielder pushing for the sole AFL list spot on offer at the Dogs.

February will see the club face Essendon and Hawthorn as part of the pre-season schedule before a Round 1 meeting against North Melbourne on Saturday, March 15.
