Wantaway Melbourne midfielder Clayton Oliver has chosen GWS as his preferred destination from 2026, knocking back interest from Collingwood.
The Giants immediately flagged their interest in Oliver following his explosive exit meeting with the Demons, where he was told by senior coach Steven King to explore his trade options, setting up a meeting with the 28-year-old.
The 2021 premiership player was seen on a boat with key Giants figures on Saturday, including senior coach Adam Kingsley, players Finn Callaghan and Lachie Ash, football boss Jason McCartney and CEO Dave Matthews, before jetting off on an American holiday.

He is contracted until the end of 2030.
Oliver's manager Nick Gieschen told AFL Media of his decision.
"Clayton Oliver has confirmed his desire to be traded to GWS. GWS will now work with Melbourne to strike a deal between the clubs," Gieschen said.
It has been reported in recent days that the Demons are willing to contribute as much as $700,000 per season, in order to expedite trade discussions.
The two clubs have until the trade deadline on Wednesday, October 15.
More to come.
