Matthew Lloyd appeared on Sportsday Radio and provided the listeners with another top seven list.
This week the Essendon Legend looked at the best seven midfielders he would love to have playing for him in a final right now.
The top 7 are as follows:
7. Tom Mitchell (Hawthorn)
As Lloyd said it, Gerard Healy was immediately surprised. Having a phenomenal season, many would choose Mitchell much higher to have on their team in a finals. Lloyd added he's only at seven because he really loves the guy ahead of him.
6. Trent Cotchin (Richmond)
"Because of his leadership and how tough he's become". It's hard to argue with Lloyd on this one. After a premiership last season, Cotchin hasn't become complacent at all and has come out and continued to dominate the opposition and lead his team to the top spot on the ladder.
5. Ollie Wines (Port Adelaide)
"Just keeps getting better and better and inspires his team". Recently signing a big contract extension, Lloyd isn't the only one seeing what this young man can do. Based on his recent domination of the opposition, Wines would be a nice asset to have come finals time.
4. Shaun Higgins (North Melbourne)
"He's tough, he's a great ball user and he breaks the lines". At his second club, Higgins has shown no sign of slowing down. Coming in with no expectations, Higgins has pushed his team into serious contention and a threat to nay side in the league.
3. Josh Kelly (Greater Western Sydney)
"He's made [GWS] a five-goal better side since he's come back". Coming back into a team that needed a leader to pull them through a slump, Kelly has been exactly that for the Giants as they look to make a big push to the finals.
2. Patrick Cripps (Carlton)
"We're all in love with Cripps". It's true, as the young leader of a struggling side, it's hard to hate on Cripps for what he's doing with his club. Missing his captain and vice-captain in Marc Murphy and Sam Docherty, it's outstanding what Cripps has been able to do with the supporting cast he has.
1. Nat Fyfe (Fremantle)
It was no secret coming into this season that Fyfe was one of the league's best players. After a couple of quiet ones, Fyfe is back to Brownlow Medal winning form and there won't be any complaints from a coach or the supporters is Fyfe is the man leading you into a finals game.
