Rival clubs are reportedly keeping tabs on Collingwood sharpshooter Ash Johnson's situation with the Magpies this year.
Johnson penned a one-year extension at Olympic Park last July after an impressive first two games in the black and white, booting five goals to stamp his place in Craig McRae's side.
The Halls Creek native would boot 15 goals for the season, all of which came in his first seven games as he managed to kick at least one major in all of those appearances, culminating with a four-goal display against Melbourne in Round 21.
The 25-year-old started this season on the outskirts of McRae's side but would earn a recall in Round 3 following a four-goal haul in Collingwood's Round 1 VFL win over Coburg. Johnson has since locked in his place at AFL level, booting three goals in three games while also being required to pinch-hit as a ruckman due to the club's current injury woes.
The athletic forward has excited fans with his aerial prowess and goalkicking acumen to emerge as a key piece in Collingwood's premiership hopes, with his worth to the club growing each week.
The exciting run of form, coupled with Johnson's contract status, has piqued the interest of other clubs though, according to AFL.com.au's Josh Gabelich.
The 2021 Mid-Season Draft selection is understood to have several sides circling, however Collingwood are reportedly keen to lock away the 193cm forward to a multi-year deal.
Clubs from both Western Australia and South Australia could look to pry Johnson out of Collingwood, with the rookie-listed Magpie having come through the SANFL system after moving from his home state of WA.
Adelaide's Shane McAdam is Johnson's half-brother, with the duo both findings themselves recruited to the top flight after impressive stints with Sturt in South Australia.
The duo are also brothers to uncapped Fremantle tall Eric Benning.
Johnson is likely to feature in Collingwood's upcoming Anzac Day clash with Essendon on Tuesday for what will be his 13th game for the Magpies.
