AFLW expansion team St Kilda have signed Lions duo Kate McCarthy and Nat Exon for their inaugural season in 2020.

This adds to the Lions’ woes, after losing seven players to the Gold Coast Suns.

The Saints have been finding it difficult to poach big name players, until the McCarthy and Exon signings.

Alongside these new signings, St Kilda have lured Alison Drennan (Western Bulldogs), Darcy Guttridge (Collingwood), Rhiannon Watt (Carlton) and Selena Karlson (Western Bulldogs) to the club.

The Saints officially announced Peta Searle as the club’s AFLW coach, on Wednesday afternoon.

The AFLW trade period closes on Thursday.
