Brisbane Lions vice-captain Tom Rockliff will miss the next 2-3 weeks of football with a dislocated shoulder.

The midfielder suffered the injury in the closing stages of his side's loss to Hawthorn in Tasmania, and scans on Monday confirmed the news for the club.

AFL Media journalist Michael Whiting confirmed Rockliff should return in under a month, with captain Dayne Beams a chance to return this weekend from a quad injury.

"It's going to keep Tom out for two or three weeks," Lions Head of Medical Peter Blanch told lions.com.au.
