The AFL has released the fixture for the opening week of finals, with the elimination final clash between Essendon and West Coast in Perth set to kick things off on Thursday night.

Collingwood and Geelong will face off in the first qualifying final on Friday night at the MCG and GWS and the Western Bulldogs will meet in the second elimination final on Saturday afternoon at Giants Stadium.

Brisbane and Richmond will cap off the first week of the finals on Saturday night at the Gabba in the second qualifying final.

Week one finals fixture

Thursday night 8:10pm: West Coast Eagles v Essendon (Optus Stadium)

Friday night 7:50pm: Geelong v Collingwood (MCG)

Saturday 3:20pm: GWS Giants v Western Bulldogs (Giants Stadium)

Saturday night 7:25pm: Brisbane v Richmond (Gabba)
