Adelaide captain Taylor Walker is in doubt for round one of the 2018 season, after suffering a foot injury at training.

Walker strained his plantar fascia on the training track and will now spend the next two weeks in a moon boot.

The 27-year-old will have a limited training regime over the next two weeks, and is expected to be fit to play in 5-6 weeks.

“Taylor had some soreness in his foot during training last week and after further assessment the strain was revealed,” Adelaide's General Manager of High Performance Matt Hass told afc.com.au.

“Fortunately, the injury doesn’t require surgery and he will make a full recovery after a period of rest.

“He will not take part in AFLX or the JLT Community Series, but is focused on being available for Round One.”

Adelaide begin the season at Etihad Stadium against Essendon on Friday, March 23.
