Crows skipper Tex Walker has been ruled out of his side's clash with the Western Bulldogs due to a hamstring injury and is not expected to return for a few weeks.

The club issued the following statement on its website:

"Walker has been restricted in his ability to get through training and games in recent weeks, following a limited pre-season due to injury.

"He will now undergo a conditioning program over the next few weeks, with a view to returning to action once fully fit."

It was revealed that Riley Knight would also not take the field on Friday night due to hamstring tendinitis and will be monitored in the coming weeks.

Crows Head of Football Brett Burton said said the club was taking a long-term approach with the management of its injuries.

“It’s obviously not an ideal situation but once again shows the importance of completing a full preseason, which both Taylor and Riley were unable to do due to injuries,” Burton told www.afc.com.au.
