Fremantle vice-captain Caleb Serong is out of his side's Friday night clash against St Kilda with a calf injury.

The star Dockers midfielder is expected to miss between 2-3 weeks with the injury, including fixtures against Brisbane at the Gabba and North Melbourne at Hands Oval in Bunbury.

Serong joins captain Alex Pearce (knee), ruck Sean Darcy (calf) and midfielder Hayden Young (concussion) as key Dockers on the sidelines.
