Brisbane teenager Kai Lohmann has had his second career game marred by injury, having his evening in the QClash end early after twisting his ankle.

Following an impressive debut against Collingwood in Round 5, Lohmann was named for his side's Queensland rivalry encounter with Gold Coast on Sunday.

The Ballarat product had begun to enjoy his second AFL outing, recording five contested touches and laying three tackles prior to hindering his ankle midway through the second term of the match.

In a tackle laid by Sun Lachie Weller, the 18-year-old was left on the Carrara turf and soon requiring the attention of medical staff.

After further inspection in the Brisbane rooms, the Lions soon pulled the trigger on their medical substitution, bringing Jaxon Prior into the match.

Lohmann was drafted to the Lions as a first-round selection last year, coming in at 20th overall in the National Draft from Lake Wendouree.
