Marvel is a pop culture phenomenon, from comics to TV to cinema, it has managed to take the world by storm across decades.
So, we at Zero Hanger thought why not bring the Marvel universe to the AFL, by having a go at comparing every club to a character from the live-action movies and tv shows.
Also, spoilers are included below, so be mindful!
Port Adelaide

One of the oldest clubs in the land and one of the oldest characters in the Marvel universe, but the comparisons don't stop there for Port Adelaide and Thor.
After a really bad grand final loss in 2007, Port declined heavily, spiralling into mediocrity and heavy debt for an extended period.
When the Avengers lost in Infinity War, Thor also spiralled, into depression and let himself go.

Both have recovered since, with the Power a top contender in 2020 and 2021, making back-to-back preliminary finals, and Thor, finding himself and getting back to being the God of Thunder.
Thunder and lightning? That's an easy one, but also with Collingwood being Loki and Port Adelaide Thor?

No – the filth in the afl (“PORT ADELAIDE FOOTBALL CLUB (A.F.L.) LIMITED”) was formed and incorporated in 1995. There is a club that is now (port adelaide “magpies” of which the ‘wobbles are a poor copy) which is now owned by port (afl) that was formed in the previous century (1870).
