Rising Port Adelaide star Connor Rozee was superb in the Showdown on Saturday night and showed all his tricks that got fans so excited in his first season.

Rozee finished second in the Rising Star and was Port Adelaide's leading goal kicker for 2019 with 29 majors.

Dwayne Russell is one of the many experts heaping praise on the crafty forward, who many believe could be the 2018 draft's best player despite Carlton's Sam Walsh dominant rookie campaign.

Rozee was pick 5 in the draft and is looming as a steal, and Russell believes Port may have a once-in-a-generation player.

“He could be Port Adelaide’s greatest ever player if he ends up dragging Port Adelaide to a flag or two,” Russell told SEN’s Dwayne’s World.

“He can’t be Port’s greatest ever player without a flag. It’s in the creed, Port Adelaide exist to win premierships.

“He’s got what Russell Ebert had, he’s got what Gary Ablett Snr had and if they can get it together in the next few years with this young group - then he could end up being the best they’ve ever had.”
