Hawthorn have been forced to use their medical substitution early into Monday's clash at the MCG, with ruckman Ned Reeves sustaining an injury to his right shoulder.
With just over a minute remaining in the first stanza, Reeves was assisted off the field after suffering a suspected dislocated shoulder.
The 211cm ruckman was in agony on the ground after a contest for the ball with Geelong's Rhys Stanley, with the Hawks forced to bring midfield bull and medical sub James Worpel into the game at quarter time.
Reeves' ailment sees the Hawks left with no recognised ruckman for the match, with Conor Nash anticipated to carry some of the stoppage workload for Sam Mitchell's side.

Geelong defender Jack Henry was subbed out of the match in the last quarter, with fellow backman Jake Kolodjashnij coming into the game as the medical sub.
Geelong midfielder Cameron Guthrie required assistance on a leg injury of his own, however the star Cat returned in the second term.
Young tall Sam De Koning also underwent attention from medical staff at quarter time after suffering a knock in the first quarter, but was also able to play out the match.
