Out-of-contract GWS forward Jake Stringer is on Collingwood's radar.
The Pies have made it clear they want to bolster their forward half and have sorely missed veteran Jamie Elliott, whilst also relying on experienced pair Daniel McStay and Tim Membrey.
Stringer's future remains in the air as the Giants work through a host of front-half players who are also out of contract, including captain Toby Greene, Jake Riccardi, Jesse Hogan and Max Gruzewski.
Hogan is also on the agenda for Collingwood, as well as Gold Coast, while Suns youngster Jake Rogers is another prospect the Pies are looking into.
According to Footy Classified, a conversation about Stringer has occurred at Collingwood, and whether a move to a fourth club is on the cards.
The Pies have been busy thus far in attempting to lure free agents to Olympic Park.
They missed out on recently re-signed Hawthorn forward Mitch Lewis, who is set to be paired up with Gold Coast free agent Ben King.
Brisbane premiership player Lachie Neale is set to don the black and white next year, and his touring of the Pies' facilities last week further enhanced his chances of moving to Victoria.
Collingwood also hasn't given up on its chase of Port Adelaide free agent Zak Butters.
Pies boss Craig Kelly has been on the front foot in bringing in established talents to the club.
“What I would say to everyone out there is that if you are a free agent or you are coming up to that period of time, you would be crazy not to come and talk to us,” Kelly said to the Herald Sun.
“We can offer things that are pretty cool. It is a great club, and it is a great location.
“You have got to want to play in front of an average crowd of 74,500 people, so if you don't like big crowds, don't come.
“If you want to go and live on a farm or live (near) a beach, you are probably going to go to Geelong. But if you want to be in the city, let's go. It (the sign) says ‘Open for business'.”
The Pies are still working through their contract calls of their veterans, but high-flying defender Jeremy Howe has been offered a one-year deal.
Premiership player Bobby Hill departed the Pies last week, with his contract until the end of 2030 torn up, opening more salary cap room.
