Brisbane premiership player Lachie Neale's mooted move to Collingwood is becoming real, with reports indicating he has toured the rival club's facilities.
Neale was in Melbourne in the past few days preparing for Saturday's clash with Carlton at Marvel Stadium.
However, in the lead-up to the contest, the two-time Brownlow Medallist found his way to assessing the halls of the KGM Centre on Friday, according to SEN.
Neale, an unrestricted free agent, has been weighing up his future amid a tumultuous off-season.
The Pies, among Essendon, Adelaide and St Kilda, all expressed interest in luring him out of Queensland, as well as clubs from his home state, West Coast and Fremantle.
It is understood Collingwood has tabled a three-year offer to Neale to beat out rivals chasing his signature, whilst pointing to Scott Pendlebury as an example of how the club continued the star's career.
The Pies are also in the hunt for Zak Butters, who is also being chased by the Western Bulldogs, Geelong and Richmond.
GWS forward Jesse Hogan is also on the club's radar, as is Gold Coast's Jake Rogers.
Collingwood's off-season plans have been attracting free agents who don't cost draft capital, whilst also heading to the draft to help bring in some youth.
Chief executive Craig Kelly made a pitch to all rival players last week.
“What I would say to everyone out there is that if you are a free agent or you are coming up to that period of time, you would be crazy not to come and talk to us,” Kelly said to the Herald Sun.
“We can offer things that are pretty cool. It is a great club, and it is a great location.
“You have got to want to play in front of an average crowd of 74,500 people, so if you don't like big crowds, don't come.
“If you want to go and live on a farm or live (near) a beach, you are probably going to go to Geelong. But if you want to be in the city, let's go. It (the sign) says ‘Open for business '.”
The Pies also have more cash to splash after formalising Bobby Hill's departure from the club.
