The Giants are set to unveil two debutants in their round one clash against the Saints.

Matt Flynn and Tanner Bruhn will don the orange and charcoal for the first time when the Giants kick-off their season on Sunday afternoon.

The duo have had very different journeys to this point, with Flynn having to wait and bide his time in the wings of Shane Mumford and the recently retired Sam Jacobs.

Flynn was drafted in 2015 from the GWS academy and will finally get to represent the club at the highest level after a 1,944 day wait.

The 23-year-old will play as the club's number one ruck with the ability to press forward and impact the scoreboard.

Bruhn was drafted last year and has been super impressive through the pre-season, but has endured battles of his own.

The number 12 draft pick had nearly two years without playing a game due to injury and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bruhn is seen as a genuine ball-winner and contested beast, but has been spending the majority of his time so far at the Giants up forward.

The 18-year-old was super impressive against the Swans in the Giants' AAMI Community Series game where he booted 4 goals from just 11 disposals.

Forward Jake Riccardi has been ruled out of selection for Sunday's clash with an ankle complaint.
