Potential number 1 pick Dougie Cochrane is set to make his return from injury this weekend for Port Adelaide's SANFL side.
The South Australian has been sidelined with a knee injury all season, but the expectation all season has been that Port Adelaide will need to match a bid in the top two of the draft.
It will be the first time he represents the club, which is all but certain to match a bid for him.
It will give him the chance to play four home and away matches. Port Adelaide is currently at the foot of the SANFL table and will not qualify for finals.
Cochrane has been back training for several weeks and will play on managed minutes for the Power against Norwood at Alberton Oval on Sunday at 1.40pm.
The tall and athletic utility last played in the Under-17s Futures game on AFL Grand Final day last year.
An Under-16s All Australian member and MVP winner, the Power were granted priority access to Cochrane in November 2025.
He played five senior games for Central District last year, kicking 10 goals, including four majors in an eye-catching debut, while also playing eight Under-18s games.
The Power currently hold picks four, 22, 26, 40, 41 and 58 in the 2026 AFL National Draft but look set for a boosted draft hand with the departure of star player Zak Butters.
The tightening of the AFL's bidding system introduced ahead of the 2026 AFL Draft will mean the Power will need to use their first two picks to match a bid for Cochrane.
