Geelong star winger Ollie Dempsey has signed a four-year extension to remain at Kardinia Park, taking him until the end of 2029.

The Cats scouted Dempsey and snared him in the 2021 Rookie Draft with Pick 15, which has been another diamond found in the rough.

The 22-year-old debuted in the club's last premiership season (2022), playing two games, before adding another five in 2023.

However, Dempsey found his footing in the AFL last year, playing 25 matches and collecting the competition's Rising Star award for his efforts.

Playing predominantly on the wing, Chris Scott utilises the hard-running right-footer in multiple roles, which has seen his game elevate to new levels in 2025.

Cats EGM of Football Andrew Mackie said the decision to extend Dempsey was a no-brainer, given what he provides the club both on and off the field.

"Ollie has an infectious personality, and is a much-loved member of our football program," Mackie said.

"Already in his short career, Ollie has a great highlight reel and has added a real spark on-field with his energy and hard running, and we can't wait to see him continue to grow as a person and a player over the next four years."

Demspey has become a mainstay in Scott's side, playing 41 consecutive games since the Round 24 clash against the Western Bulldogs in 2023.

The 22-year-old sits second in Geelong's goal kicking with 22 majors, which come in all but two games this year.

Dempsey joins Tom Atkins, Mark Blicavs and Gryan Miers, who have also re-signed with the Cats over the past month.
