Geelong could be without superstar midfielder Bailey Smith against Richmond, as 7 News journalistย Mitch Cleary reported that there is "increasing doubt around Smith's spot in Geelong's lineup" after he missed the Cats' training session yesterday.
The reason for his absence is unknown at this time.
If confirmed, this would become Smith's third late-out of the season.
The versatile Jack Bowes is primed to be named as Smith's replacement if he is withdrawn, Cleary says, giving the 27-year-old the chance to play in his first senior game since suffering a hamstring injury in Round 10 against Port Adelaide.
Geelong have already made one late change ahead of this fixture with the Tigers, as the club announced Tyson Stengle would sit out with personal reasons.
This paved the way for 2023 draftee George Stevens to make his debut, who has been dominating in the reserves all season long, averaging 26 disposals and seven clearances per game for the Cats VFL side.
