The Fremantle Dockers have confirmed that they are preparing to remain on the East Coast of the continent, should they progress through to the next round of finals.

The Dockers are currently preparing for their semi-final clash against Collingwood this weekend and should they win, will likely be heading straight to Sydney for a preliminary final clash.

"In the event of a win over Collingwood on Saturday night, there are plans in place to be based in Melbourne until the completion of our finals campaign," stated Fremantle Chief Executive Officer Simon Garlick.

“We owe it to our players, staff, members and supporters to ensure we give ourselves the best chance to maximise performance.

“Given we have no more home games this finals series, we felt it appropriate to explore ways to optimise our chances of success."

Should Fremantle Progress through the weekend, it would give Nat Fyfe a good chance of playing again this year.

Fyfe has been absent from the squad since sustaining a right hamstring injury after the Round 23 match against GWS three weeks ago.

Fremantle's captain has struggled tremendously through injury this year and has only managed to feature in just seven matches.

The Dockers take on Collingwood this Saturday night in a do-or-die semi-final at the MCG, with the first bounce commencing at 7:25 pm (AEST).
