Fremantle is expected to persist with Mason Cox as the second fiddle to Luke Jackson for Thursday's qualifying final against Hawthorn at Optus Stadium instead of recalling Sean Darcy.
The second-ruck role has been a point of conversation for large parts of the year, with Dockers coach Justin Longmuir torn between the American and the club icon.
Cox has been given the first nod given Darcy's injury troubles, which have plagued him for the past three years. The former Pie has played 16 games while his teammate has featured in seven, but has played in the WAFL for Peel Thunder.
“No, we think Coxy will play this week,” Longmuir told Kayo Sports' AFL 360.
“We feel like his form is good enough to hold his spot, and I don't want to make too many changes either coming into our first final.
“So we feel like he's done his role and has done enough to keep his spot in the side.”
Hawthorn has former Docker Lloyd Meek leading the ruck charge, while athletic types Mabior Chol and Josh Weddle have pinched hit when needed.
Ned Reeves played in the VFL on the weekend and will be pushing to feature in Sam Mitchell's side. He had 12 touches, 36 hit-outs, six tackles and a goal in Box Hill's win over Werribee.
Longmuir is set to recall important quartet Murphy Reid, Sam Switkowski, Jye Amiss and Heath Chapman to take on the Hawks.
The four Dockers were managed for the Round 24 clash against Carlton, and are primed for the club's final.
