Carlton has signed former Essendon coach Cam Roberts as an assistant (forwards) for 2027.
Roberts recently departed the Bombers after seven seasons as a midfield development coach and head of development whilst overseeing the club's academy at Tullamarine.
Roberts also played 11 games for Geelong in 1996 and 1997, and was involved in the AFL Northern Territory talent pathways programs as well as working in remote Indigenous communities, helping with community football and game development.
“Cam brings more than 20 years of coaching experience, from developing young players in the Northern Territory to assistant coaching roles at AFL and AFLW level. His well-rounded knowledge will be a valuable addition to our coaching group,” Davies said.
“Cam has spent many years honing his craft: his expertise will suit our dynamic new forward line and the ball movement we will look to further evolve during the upcoming pre-season.
“Above all, Cam is a great connector of people. He earns trust with players, while also building relationships that help everyone around him improve.”
The Blues have confirmed their line coaches for the 2027 AFL season under Senior Coach Josh Fraser, with Roberts taking charge of the forwards, alongside Ash Hansen (defence) and Leigh Adams (midfield).
