We're back for Round 8 of Zero Hanger’s weekly ‘five useless stats’ series.
Every week Aaron Delaporte from Useless AFL Stats will take a look at the top five most useless, but captivating, statistics from the weekend.
Round 8 was another that provided plenty to look at in the way of weird, bizarre and ultimately Useless Stats.
2. Markov puts out the love
On the day before Mother's Day, we were amazed to see the heatmap movements of Gold Coast's Oleg Markov in his match against St Kilda. Born in Belarus, Markov was just 10 months old when his family made the move to Australia, as his father, Dimitri, sought better opportunities as an athlete.
He went on to represent Australia at the Olympic Games in the pole vault, winning a Gold Medal in 2001. Oleg's mother Valentina would have surely been proud of the love heart Markov made for her as he collected a stack of possessions across half back for the Suns.
