4. Mitchell disposal madness

After trailing by 34 points at quarter time, Hawthorn closed the margin to just 13 at the major break with Tom Mitchell having an unbelievable quarter with 20 disposals, eight kicks 12 handballs and a goal.

While we don’t have access to any quarter by quarter player records, a quick Google search is normally a good place to start. And we believe this is an equal record with two other players.

In Round 7 2015, West Coast’s Chris Masten had 20 disposals in the final term of a win over Gold Coast, while in the second quarter of the Semi Final in 2013 Sydney v Carlton, Jarrad McVeigh also had 20.

Players known to have had 19 disposals in a quarter are Tim Kelly and Darren Milburn both for Geelong, and Marcus Ashcroft for Brisbane. Meanwhile, Andrew Carazzo, Luke Power, Dayne Zorko and Tom Scully are known to have 18 in a quarter.
