A total of 115 AFL players remain eligible for free agency in 2024 as a number of big contract calls and stories are set to play a part in the year ahead.

Geelong has 12 players listed for free agency this season, three more than the next highest in Richmond.

Key Cats Patrick Dangerfield, Jack Henry, Tyson Stengle, and Tom Hawkins are among the list of off-contract names at Kardinia Park, while the Tigers have their own top line of unsigned stars with Dustin Martin, Toby Nankervis and Dion Prestia all currently without deals for 2025 and eligible for free agency.

St Kilda and Gold Coast have eight players eligible for 2024, while Carlton has the fewest with just three players.

A total of eight players are listed as restricted free agents, with Western Bulldogs ruckman Tim English, Brisbane midfield pair Jarrod Berry and Hugh McCluggage, Gold Coast's Ben Ainsworth, Essendon's Andrew McGrath, Hawk Blake Hardwick, Sydney's Will Hayward, Kangaroo Cameron Zurhaar and the aforementioned Dangerfield all eligible under the restricted band.

Those who earn inside of the top 25 per cent of their list and have spent at least eight years at their club qualify as restricted free agents.

Players who have previously qualified for free agency or have been delisted in the past qualify as unrestricted free agents.
