West Coast have revealed midfielder Dom Sheed is dealing with a foot issue and is currently sporting a moon boot after sustaining an injury this week, while draftee Archer Reid is also on a modified training program with a knee injury.
Sheed dealt this multiple injuries this year to play just 15 games for the season, not featuring in Adam Simpson's side after Round 20 while the opening half of his campaign was impacted by a throat issue.
The premiership Eagle managed just one game last year due to ankle and leg injuries, with the onballer's pre-season for 2024 now hampered with a fresh foot concern.
The club has detailed the ailment as a 'hot spot' and will further assess Sheed's concern while placing the 28-year-old on a modified training program.
Reid has been placed in a knee brace after sustaining his own pre-season setback, with the young tall forward set to be monitored throughout the start of his first pre-season with the club.
"Scans have revealed that experienced West Coast Eagles midfielder Dom Sheedย and young forwardย Archer Reid have injuries which will require the players to modify their training loads in pre-season," a club statement read.
"Sheed has a โhot spot' in his foot and Reid has a knee issue. Both injuries will require further assessment and as part of their management Sheed will wear a moon boot while Reid will don a brace.
"The club will release further details as it becomes available."
Reid joined the Eagles as the 30th overall selection at last month's National Draft.
The Eagles are scheduled to commence their 2024 campaign against Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval on Sunday, March 17 in Round 1.
