Essendon have landed star GWS midfielder Dylan Shiel, in the dying stages of the trade period.

The Giants have landed pick 9 and Essendon’s 2019 first round pick, while giving the Bombers Shiel and their future second round pick.

Shiel nominated the Bombers early last week, although the two parties couldn’t agree a deal until late on Wednesday evening.

The Giants star was an All-Australian in 2017, and has played 135 games for the club.

He has averaged 24.4 disposals, 3.9 inside 50s, 4.8 clearances and 3.1 marks across his career.
