Melbourne has announced that the State Memorial Service for club legend Ron Barassi AM will be held at 11 AM (AEDT) on Friday, November 10.

The Memorial Service will take place at the MCG and will be live-streamed for those who cannot attend the event. Tickets will also become available for members of the public who wish to attend.

Barassi was the first player to be inaugurated into the Australian Football Hall of Fame as a 'Legend,' winning 10 premierships as a player and coach across Melbourne, Carlton, North Melbourne, and Sydney.

As a player, Barassi played 254 games across Melbourne and Carlton kicking 330 goals, whilst he coached 515 games from 1965 to 1995.

"It is only fitting that we gather to say farewell at the MCG where Ron so often played and coached the game he loved," the Demons said via melbournefc.com.au.
