North Melbourne AFLW captain Jasmine Garner has been awarded the 2026 AFL Coaches Association AFLW Champion Player of the Year Award for a record fourth time.

The Roos skipper was remarkably rewarded for her efforts throughout the year, getting votes in every match during the 2026 home and away season, including five perfect 10-vote performances.

She was recognised for her midfield craft, stoppage work, and game-winning abilities by the AFLW senior coaches as the skipper finished first on 102 votes.

Garner polled a maximum 10 votes in the Kangaroos' final-round victory over Richmond to hold off Gold Coast's Charlie Rowbottom (95) and Geelong's Georgie Prespakis (93).

Teammate and Kangaroos vice-captain Ash Riddell finished in fourth place with 78 votes after claiming the award last season.

Garner averaged 31.1 disposals and 5.3 clearances per game while booting 10 goals, helping North Melbourne secure a third straight minor premiership.

Senior coach Darren Crocker paid tribute to his captain, saying it comes as no surprise.

"To be recognised as the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player four times is an extraordinary achievement, but it comes as no surprise to anyone inside our footy club," Crocker said.

"Jasmine leads from the front in everything she does, whether that's at training, gameday or off-field. She really does set the standards for others to strive towards across our entire group.

"Her consistency week-in, week-out is phenomenal. While she's always team-first, this award is thoroughly deserved recognition of the way she has applied herself to be the player she's become in this competition."

The champion midfielder's record honour now sits alongside her previous wins in 2020, 2022 and 2023.

She is already a dual premiership player for the Roos as they enter the finals series aiming to reach their fourth straight Grand Final, with a win putting them in equal first spot for AFLW premierships, beside Adelaide, on three.
